Pizza Joe is back. If you've been following us for a while, you know Joe โ he's one of our longtime customers out of San Diego and the owner of his own Italian restaurant down there. When Polaris dropped the 2026 Pro R Ultimate, Joe didn't waste any time. He found one in Phoenix, had it shipped to our shop, and told us to get to work. This is the second full build we've done for Joe, and it might be one of my favorite cars we've ever put together. Let's walk through it.

Pizza Joe’s 2026 Polaris RZR Pro R Ultra Build | Jagged X
Front End
The first thing you're going to notice is this front bumper from The Race Shop. Joe sourced this one himself and sent it over to us. If you're not familiar with The Race Shop, they do a lot of trophy truck work, and you can tell โ this thing is all TIG-welded chromoly and it is seriously overbuilt. Every time we post this car, that bumper gets people talking.
We mounted four Baja Designs XL 80s to it and wired them on two separate switches so Joe can run the inner pair by themselves or light up all four when he really needs to see. Behind the bumper there's a solid skid plate, so the front end is well protected and well lit.
Up top, we swapped out the factory aluminum facia bracket for our Jagged X Stealth Fascia Bracket. It's steel, powder coated black, and robot welded โ just a way cleaner look than what Polaris gives you from the factory. We do this on all of our 2025 and 2026 builds.
We also installed DRT Motorsports front CV boot guards so Joe doesn't have to worry about tearing up boots when he's pushing through brush.
Suspension, Steering & Alignment
The suspension on this car is all factory โ it's a 2026 Ultimate so it already comes with solid stuff โ but we went through and addressed every known weak point. Up top we installed Black Ops Machine ball joints, and on the bottom we went with CMI Precision ball joints and the CMI Precision tie rod kit. Those factory A-arms are already super strong, and now every weak point in the front end is sorted. Joe can bomb through anything without worrying about it.
One of the big things about this car being an Ultra is the SDI adjustable sway bar links. These are adjustable in the cab, on the fly, and it's the first car we've had in our shop with this technology. Really cool stuff that Polaris introduced this year.
Out back we installed Shock Therapy toe links and Shock Therapy chromoly radius rods. The reason we run both together is it gives us full adjustability to throw this car on a four-wheel computer alignment and get it driving perfectly straight. Fire roads, trails, highway โ the car just performs better when it's truly dialed in.
We also added a Geiser Performance shock guard on the rear to protect the shock shaft from debris. It looks cool and it keeps stuff from getting into places it shouldn't be.
Wheels & Tires
Joe kept the factory Polaris wheels โ the 2026 Ultra comes with a color that matches the whole build perfectly. For tires, we went with 35-inch Valor Offroad Tangos. They fit this car like a glove, and being slightly bigger than stock, Joe's not going to have any tire issues out on the trail. He's also running a full-size spare mounted on the back.
Cage & Exterior Protection
The cage is from Brick City Fab and it completely changes the lines of this car. It brings the profile down a little, it's heavily gusseted, and it is clean. Joe wanted a single intrusion bar instead of the V bar โ just a different look โ and it came out sick. We did blue badges on the cage to match the rest of the build.
Down below, we installed Plague Industries rock sliders and steps. These serve double duty โ Joe gets an easy step in and out of the car, and the sliders protect everything underneath so he can actually beat on it without tearing up plastic. They also get rid of that wavy factory skid plate look and clean the whole thing up.
For fender protection, we went with K UTV Rock Knockers. These are way bigger than the factory mud flaps and they knock down rocks and debris to protect the rear of the car, keep stuff out of the springs and brakes, and help protect the powder coat on the cage.
Rear End & Storage
Starting at the tailgate, we installed the DRT Motorsports pull plate, all powder coated to match the build. Below that we mounted Baja Designs backup lights that double as chase lights. They trigger automatically in reverse so Joe can see a lot better, but they're also wired to his Switch Pros so he can run them solid or flashing when he's out on the trail. His buddies will always know where he's at. We mounted them low because with the spare tire up top, lights mounted high are tough to see.
Joe's running a Geiser Performance number plate with his Pizza Joe's restaurant logo, the Razor logo, and our Jagged X logo on it. It's the sleeker drag style and it just gives the rear end some attitude.
For storage, we went with the MacDermid Design rear storage box. These are built right here in Phoenix, Arizona โ super structural, weatherproof, and lockable. Joe can fit coolers, jacks, axles, a tool roll โ whatever he needs for a day out on the trail. The full-size 35-inch spare mounts right on top.
Up on the roof, we mounted Joe's Starlink on our Jagged X Starlink Mini Mount. It's a magnet mount so he can pop it off and use it on other vehicles, and it's hardwired to his Switch Pros with our Jagged X Starlink Mini Car Power Supply so he can power it on even when the car is off. Connectivity anywhere, anytime โ he can be out of the car and still be online doing whatever he needs to do.
On the rear CV boots, we installed Geiser Performance rear CV boot guards to keep rocks and brush from tearing them up. And for the oil filter, we went with a Geiser Performance oil filter guard. The factory one is plastic โ this one wraps around more and gives real protection. The last thing you want to do is lose an oil filter out on a trail because then you're done.
Interior & Electronics
The interior on this car is loaded. Starting with the dash, we installed XKraft Motorsports carbon fiber boots in matte carbon. We chose matte because it matches the black texture of the factory dash perfectly. These replace the plasticky rubber boots from the factory, they can come on and off with the cage installed, and we put them on every one of our builds. If your car doesn't have a stereo, they have a carbon fiber piece that bolts on where the tweeter is so you get full carbon coverage.
For mirrors, Joe went with Axia Alloys side mirrors in the medium length. They're circular convex, anodized black, and subtle โ they don't stick out but the field of view is great. He's running the matching Axia Alloys rearview mirror inside as well.
The center console runs a StayFlush Motorsports mount holding his PCI Race Radios Kenwood radio, PCI Race Radios intercom, his pumper volume control, and a push-to-talk button. Right next to that we mounted a Rugged Radios USB charger with USB-C and USB-A.
Everything else runs through the Switch Pros SP9100. Joe's mode switch got moved up top since we ran out of space with all of his lighting controls. The XTC Power Products turn signal kit is on its own switch, and the rest of the car is managed from the Switch Pros panel. He also has a Garmin GPS mounted on a Metal Head Fab bracket โ this is actually the same bracket from his last build. Joe loved it so much he brought it with him and we installed it in this car too. The Garmin powers on with the radio through the Switch Pros โ one button fires everything up.
The horn runs through a custom AZ Wire Pro CAN interface module that also controls his reverse lights and will eventually control his SMB particle separator when that gets installed. This module ramps power on the SMB between high and low โ really cool piece from AZ Wire Pro.
One of my favorite details on this build โ we wired up Litt Industries dome lights and floorboard lights to the doors. When Joe opens a door, the dome lights and all four floor lights fire on automatically, just like your daily driver. No fumbling for a switch at night. He can also control them from his Switch Pros when he's in the car. Just a really cool touch that makes the car feel dialed.
Axia Alloys headset mounts are in all four corners so everyone knows where their headset goes every time they get in the car. We installed DRT Motorsports visors for when he's running in the sun, and the DRT Motorsports shifter gate with DRT Motorsports shift knob are all powder coated blue to match the build. Out back on the license plate, we've got the XTC Power Products lighted license plate frame.
Under the Skin
One thing you can't see but you can definitely feel โ we installed the Polaris carbon fiber drive shaft. Joe had this in his first build and loved the lighter, more responsive feel, especially with the bigger 35-inch tires. It was a no-brainer to carry it over to this car. If you've watched any of our shop walks, you've seen how trick that drive shaft looks in person.
What's Next
Joe's also got an AGM Products jack going on the harness bar โ we're just waiting on the mounts for that. And down the road, the SMB particle separator will get added and tied into the AZ Wire Pro CAN interface module that's already installed and ready for it.
