Pizza Joe 2025 Polaris Pro R:1

Meet Pizza Joe’s 2025 Polaris Pro-R: A Fully Built, San Diego-Style Off-Road Beast

We just wrapped up one of our most fun builds yet — and it’s headed back to a very excited customer named Pizza Joe.

That’s right, Pizza Joe — not just a nickname, but the real deal. He owns a killer Italian restaurant in San Diego, and if you’ve ever had one of his subs or slices, you already know this guy’s got good taste — in food and UTVs.

This is actually the second SXS we’ve built for Joe, and man, did we go all out on this one. From front to back, inside and out, this 2025 Polaris Pro-R is built to dominate the dunes, rock crawl with confidence, and turn heads wherever it rolls.

Let’s take a full walkaround — just like we did in the shop — and break down every upgrade, every custom touch, and every reason why this rig is ready for anything.

Front-End Dominance: Built for Light and Durability

Right up front, you’re greeted by the aggressive stance of the Connery Motorsports front bumper — a rock-solid foundation that sets the tone for this whole build.

Mounted on that bumper? Three Baja Designs XL80 LED pods — one amber, two clears — all wired separately. That means Joe can run the amber lights in dusty conditions for better penetration, or switch to the crisp white clears when the air is clean. Total control, total visibility.

Behind the bumper sits a sleek DRT Motorsports aluminum grill, powder-coated in illusion cherry — a color theme that flows throughout the entire build. It’s bold, it’s unique, and it pops against the factory-inspired wrap.

And because Joe doesn’t mess around when it comes to reliability, we upgraded the entire front suspension:

  • New lower ball joints (heavy-duty from Black Ops Machine)
  • CMI Precision Tie Rod Kit
  • CMI Lower Ball Joints — fully adjustable and built to last

This isn’t just maintenance — it’s overkill in the best way. Whether he’s hitting whoops or crawling over sharp rock, these components are designed to take a beating and keep going.

Wheels, Tires & Side Profile: Clean, Capable, Custom

Joe rolled with the stock wheels, but we gave them a serious upgrade with illusion cherry powder-coated rings — matching the rest of the build’s theme and adding that custom flair without going overboard.

Underneath? 35-inch Valor Alpha tires — aggressive, durable, and perfect for mixed terrain. Whether he’s sand surfing or trail blazing, these tires deliver grip and confidence.

On the sides, the Brick City Fab six-inch lowered cage gives the Pro-R a super clean, low-slung profile — sleek without sacrificing safety. It’s a look that turns heads and stands out in a sea of stock builds.

Flanking the cage are Chupacabra Offroad race mirrors — mounted on their race mirror base for a no-nonsense, competition-ready setup.

We also added Plague Industries step/rock sliders — not just for style, but for real-world protection and easy entry/exit. Each slider features a custom powder-coated badge that ties into the illusion cherry accents.

And speaking of style — Cactus Wraps handled the graphics. We kept it subtle: a wrap on the hood, Joe’s logo on the side, and factory-style graphics reimagined in bold red instead of charcoal. It’s understated, but unmistakably custom.

Rear-End Ready: Protection, Power & Practicality

Out back, this Pro-R means business.

We installed DRT rock guard mud flaps and DRT shock guards to keep debris off critical components — because nothing ruins a day faster than mud-caked shocks or rock-damaged arms.

For dusty desert runs, we added the S&B Particle Separator — a game-changer for keeping dirt out of the engine and extending service life.

Safety first: an Axia Alloys fire extinguisher is mounted and ready, because you never know when things might get too hot.

Joe doesn’t run lighted whips — he sticks with a simple fiberglass whip — but we pre-wired the mounts so the next owner can easily upgrade to glowing whips. Future-proofing at its finest.

We also installed an RPM oil fill adapter — a small but brilliant mod. Now Joe can top off his oil without removing bed panels. Just pop the cap and go. Simple.

And for visibility? Dual Baja Designs S1 chase lights mounted on custom brackets — designed to sit perfectly flush despite the rear’s angle. Clean, functional, and bright.

The rear also features:

Storage? Sorted. The MacDermid Pro-R storage box holds a full 35-inch Valor spare tire — because you don’t want to get caught out there with a flat.

And for that final touch:

Interior Upgrades: Where Function Meets Comfort

Step inside, and it’s clear this isn’t just a weekend warrior — it’s a thoughtfully built cockpit.

The dash features a custom StayFlush mount that houses:

  • The radio
  • Switch Pro SP9100 panel (fully integrated)

  • Volume control for Race Air blowers
  • Sirius XM bracket
  • Master power switch to kill the Garmin and radios at once — no more battery drain worries

Also on the dash: a DRT shift gate, powder-coated in illusion cherry to match the rest of the build.

Overhead, Lit Industries dome lights provide bright, even illumination — perfect for late-night trail repairs or just finding your keys.

A Chupacabra headset hanger keeps comms gear organized, and the Axia panoramic rearview mirror gives a wide field of view — critical when you’re bouncing through the whoops.

Sun protection? Covered with DRT universal sun visors — a must for those San Diego afternoons.

Smart Storage & Hidden Features

We didn’t forget the little things that make a big difference.

  • A spare axle is securely mounted using Axia hose clamp adapters — because breakdowns shouldn’t mean a rescue mission.
  • Axia headset jacks in the rear let front passengers plug in and stay connected.
  • A jump lug setup lets Joe jump the car or charge accessories on the fly — no external jumper cables needed.
  • And hidden in the corner? An RPM 4.5-gallon auxiliary fuel tank — perfect for extending range on long trips. The switch is integrated right into the Switch Pro panel for seamless control.

Ceiling Decking: The Final Touch

Up top, Blades’s Custom Decking installed a full interior ceiling deck — not just for looks, but to dampen noise and vibration from the metal roof. The design? A tapered square pattern that mirrors the side graphics — tying the whole build together from every angle.

Final Thoughts: A Build We’re Proud Of

From the illusion cherry powder coat to the fully adjustable suspension, from custom lighting to smart interior organization, every part of this build was chosen with purpose.

And if you’re ever in San Diego? Do yourself a favor — stop by Pizza Joe’s restaurant. He’s brought us food during service drops, and let’s just say… the man knows his way around a pizza.
