Brandon Scheuelers Polaris Xpedition ADV Build

Inside Brandon’s Polaris Xpedition ADV | JRI Mid Travel, Heated Seats & Five18 Neon Wrap

If you've been following our content, you've probably seen my personal Xpedition build. Well, now it's time to show you Brandon's Polaris Xpedition ADV. For those who don't know, Brandon is my business partner here at Jagged X Offroad. He's the behind-the-scenes guy - you won't see him in front of the camera much, but if you've caught any of our shop walks on his days off, you've probably spotted him.

Back in 2021, we built Brandon a Turbo S with this incredible neon theme that he absolutely loved. If you've been to our shop in Phoenix, you've seen the same neon look on our windows - it's kind of become part of our brand identity. Brandon loved that Turbo S so much that when it came time to build his Xpedition, he wanted it to match. So that's exactly what we did.

Check out Brandon's original Turbo S build here: Brandon's Polaris RZR Turbo S Four-Seat Setup

Let's walk through everything on this custom Polaris Xpedition ADV build.

Front End and Bumper Setup

Starting at the front like we always do, Brandon went with all DRT Motorsports stuff. The DRT Front Bumper paired with the DRT Grill gives the front end a really aggressive, clean look.

On the bumper, we mounted a MOJAB Offroad Fairlead. You guys know we've been using these on all of our builds lately. A couple things we really like about it - it's got a hook built in, the whole thing comes out, and it's super user-friendly and adaptable. But the main thing is it gets rid of the factory magnet and that hook that dangles around and scratches stuff up. It's just a really clean look. They happen to have this gray color that matches his powder coat perfectly, so it ties everything together.

For lighting, Brandon went with four Baja Designs XL80s on the front bumper. But something you might not notice right away are the aftermarket headlights. These are XTC headlights with a turn signal indicator built right in - that top eyebrow turns amber when the turn signals are working. Pretty slick setup for getting street legal here in Arizona.

Suspension and Steering

For suspension, Brandon's running a JRI Mid Travel Kit. This is one of our absolute favorite suspension setups for the Xpedition - we run one on our shop car and the performance is exceptional. JRI is an in-store product, so if you're interested in one of these kits, contact us directly.

Paired with the JRI kit, he's got the full Shock Therapy setup:

  • Shock Therapy Dual Rate Spring Kit
  • Shock Therapy Ride Improvement System
  • DRT Sway Bar Links front and rear

He also went with a DRT Tie Rod Kit and Super ATV Ball Joints. The Rhino 2.0 Axles round out the drivetrain - these are essential when you're running mid travel and adding width to these machines.

The rear suspension mirrors the front with all the same Shock Therapy goodies, DRT sway bar links, and Rhino 2.0 axles. Everything works together to give the car a planted, confident feel whether you're cruising fire roads or pushing it in technical terrain.

Wheels and Tires

The wheel and tire combo on this build is one of my favorites. Brandon went with the Valor V16 Wheels - we powder coated the ring to match the rest of the car, but the wheel itself comes black with a gray accent. For those of you with the black camo cars (which is what this one started as), or really any Xpedition honestly, it's a really sweet looking wheel since black and gray matches everything.

Wrapped around those V16s are the Valor Tango Tires in a 33x9.50x15. If you watch our shop walks and videos, you know we love this tire. A 33-inch tire on a mid travel Xpedition is really the sweet spot, especially because this tire runs a little bit big. It's a great combination with the JRI mid travel kit.

The Five18 Designs Wrap

Alright, let's talk about what really makes this build stand out - the wrap from Five18 Designs. Hopefully it shows in the video and photos how cool this actually is, but it literally looks like the car is lit up. It's such a sick wrap, and Five18 knocked it out of the park with this one.

If you've been to our shop in Phoenix, you know we have the windows wrapped like this. We just love this neon look, mostly because they make it look so real. It pops. Brandon's got the DRT logo and the Jagged X logo done in neon on the sides, and it ties the whole theme together perfectly.

Also on the exterior, you'll notice all the DRT mesh panels for the clutch intake and inner fender areas. LITT Industries Rock Lights are hidden up in the wheel wells - same dome light we use inside, just the rock light version. These things are super bright and really pop at night with the neon wrap.

Exterior Accessories and Lighting

Beyond the wrap, there's a lot going on with the exterior accessories. The DRT Mesh Panels cover the clutch intake and inner fender areas, and the DRT Inner Fender Guards add protection while keeping that clean look.

The rock lights from LITT Industries are tucked up in the wheel wells where you can't really see them during the day, but at night they light up the ground and really complement the neon theme of the wrap.

Roof and Antenna Setup

Up top, we've got a new bracket from B's Fab. You guys have seen us use their brackets that hold antennas, but this one is custom made to hold both an antenna and a Martian whip. On one side he's got a Rugged antenna and a Martian whip, and on the other side just the Martian whip. The whips aren't installed in these photos - that's just a cap - but you get the idea.

Inside that bracket area, which you can't really see, is where Brandon's Starlink control box is mounted. He hasn't got the dish mounted yet, but the plan is to mount the Starlink Mini to the top of his Roam box in the back. That way he can pull it out and use it wherever he's riding. Having reliable internet out on the trail is a game-changer for longer trips.

Rear Bumper and Exhaust

In the back, Brandon went with the DRT Rear Bumper. It's got backup lights that we wired to trigger automatically when you put the car in reverse - so when you're backing up, those lights come on. He's also got an XTC License Plate Frame and the DRT Exhaust Cover, all powder coated to match.

Again, like everything else on this build, the attention to detail with the powder coating really ties it all together. The rear end looks factory but way better.

Bed Storage System

Inside the bed is where things get really functional. Brandon's running a Geiser Performance pull-out tray. This thing slides out and gives you easy access to everything without having to reach over the tailgate. On the tray, he's got a Roam storage box - this one is end-opening with nice compartmentalized pockets inside, so he can keep all his tools, jackets, and gear organized. It's all weather-tight with really cool billet hinges.

Next to that is the Roam cooler, which opens up and has a cutting board, basket, and some other cool stuff inside. The whole setup locks in place and closes back up clean. It's a really nice system from Geiser and Roam. For the Geiser tray, contact us directly.

Interior - Seats and Comfort

Now let's get inside, because this is where the build really shines.

First thing you're going to notice are the Triple X seats. These are heated and cooled - ventilated in the back, heated on the bottom, with switches right there on the seat. Hot Arizona days, you turn on the ventilation and get some airflow. Cold mornings, turn on the heat and warm up. These seats are a massive upgrade over stock. For custom seats, contact us directly.

Brandon went with a monotone charcoal-on-charcoal look for the Blade's Custom Decking throughout the interior. It's a little hard to see in photos because of the color matching, but it covers the doors, dash pieces, and other trim areas. If you've seen our past videos, you know we love this material because it makes the car feel so much nicer inside. It gets rid of that plastic-y door panel feel and just gives everything a more premium look. Blade's Decking is another in-store service - reach out and we'll get you set up.

The factory rear seat was also reupholstered by Triple X to match the front seats.

Interior - DRT Accessories

All the DRT interior accessories are powder coated to match - the DRT Passenger Grab Handle, DRT A-Pillar Grab Handles, DRT Door Handles, and DRT Steering Wheel. The cool thing about going all DRT is everything just flows together and ties in nicely.

When you're sitting in the driver's seat, every touch point feels premium. The billet grab handles, the steering wheel, the door handles - it all matches and it all feels solid. That's what separates a good build from a great one.

Electronics and Communication

For communications, Brandon's using the Rugged M1 Radio with just a radio and speaker in this car - no headsets or anything. He can talk to all the other cars in the group and communicate inside the car without needing an intercom setup. It's hooked up to a Switch Pros SP9100 which controls all his accessories.

On the Switch Pros, he's got his dome lights, rock lights, GPS trigger for the Starlink, whips, and even an onboard air compressor. The LITT Industries Dome Lights are installed in all three spots - super bright and way better than stock.

For the turn signal system, Brandon's got the XTC billet lever and the horn/hazard button right there on the dash. Combined with those XTC headlights with the amber eyebrow, he's totally street legal here in Arizona.

Onboard Air and Utility Features

One of the coolest functional additions is the onboard air compressor setup. The compressor itself is mounted outside the car on the bottom, and then Brandon put a hose reel under the rear seat. It's actually really long - he can feed it anywhere he needs to fill up his tires or help out anyone else in the group. When the seat's down, it's completely out of the way and you'd never know it's there.

Down below the driver's seat, you'll see our battery cutoff switch and jump lug system. I know we talk about these a lot, but this setup is really useful - particularly the jump lugs. If you need to jump your battery in an Xpedition, you normally have to use tools to unbolt the seat just to get to the battery. Adding this allows you to jump it without any tools at all. Just open your door, hook up your jump cables, and you're good to go.

The B's Fab Door Straps are also installed - this is our number one seller on the website, and most of you probably already have them. If you don't, you absolutely need them. They allow the door to open about six inches more, so you're not fighting with it when you have car seats, dogs, or you're just trying to load gear in the back. Makes getting in and out so much easier.

And speaking of B's Fab, Brandon also has the B's Fab Dust Proof Floor Plugs in all four corners to keep dust from coming up through the floor.
