DRT Motorsports 2025 Sand Show Polaris Xpedition ADV SXS Build 141

Ultimate DRT Polaris Xpedition Build for 2025 Sand Sports Super Show – Complete Walk-Around

We just wrapped up one of the most over the top builds we've ever done here at Jagged X Offroad. DRT Motorsports asked us to build them a custom Polaris Xpedition for the 2025 Sand Sports Super Show in California, and we went absolutely nuts with it. What you're looking at started as a stock Xpedition ADV and now it's loaded with DRT's latest products, including some prototype parts that might never make it to market.

Super fortunate that DRT let us go all out on this one. This build took months, but the results are really, really cool. Let's walk through everything we did to this thing.

DRT Motorsports Sand Show 2025 Display Vehicle Overview

This Xpedition is going to be DRT's centerpiece at the 2025 Sand Show. We packed it with both their production parts and some prototype stuff they're working on. Some of the parts you'll see in this article might never actually come out to market, but we're showing you everything anyway because it's just too cool not to share.

The whole idea was to build the ultimate adventure machine that can handle serious off-road stuff but also has convenience features like remote start and power door locks. Yeah, you read that right - this Xpedition has remote start just like your daily driver.

Front End Upgrades: DRT Bumper, LP4 Lights & JRI Suspension

We started at the front with a DRT front bumper. We put these on 99% of the Xpeditions that come through our shop because the fit and finish is absolutely dialed. Works perfectly with the factory winch too. We paired it with a Factor 55 clevis and DRT fairlead - honestly, it just looks way better than the factory hook that comes with the winch.

For lighting, we went with three Baja Designs LP4s mounted on the front bumper. We also added some Squadron Pros underneath for an amber option if you want to run amber lights. Behind the DRT grill, we mounted orange lights that look absolutely sick when they're lit up.

The suspension is probably one of the coolest parts of this whole build. We went with a JRI mid-travel kit that we had powder coated orange. But here's the really cool part - we had the JRI logo custom painted to match all the other colors on the car. It's got this blue and purpleish pink that just pops.

We paired that JRI kit with Demon complete axles and SDI E-Click shocks. These shocks are fully adjustable from inside the cab - just like what you'd get on a Pro R. You can change your ride settings on the fly, which is absolutely phenomenal for different terrain.

One of the new products from DRT is this tie rod extension. It's built specifically for mid-travel and long travel kits. Instead of running an extension like a lot of kits come with, you get a full factory-quality tie rod with heim joints and a clevis. They make these for long travel applications and also for stock width if you just want to beef up your factory setup.

Here's one of those prototype parts I mentioned - DRT's brake reservoir protection. Still gives you access to the cap and has a viewing window so you can check your brake fluid level, but it protects everything from rocks and debris. It's just cool looking too.

Driver Side Features: New DRT A-Pillar Mounts & Premium Accessories

DRT came out with a new A-pillar light mount that's specifically made for LP4s, but it'll work with other lights too. Super solid mount - it bolts through the two cage bolts so you never have to worry about rattling or lights flickering while you're driving.

We installed DRT mirrors that mount into the door so they open and close with it. They're positioned closer to the window than a lot of aftermarket options, which gives you a really good field of view. All the glass is convex and replaceable.

The wrap was done by Five18 Designs here in Phoenix. It's got this really cool gradient in the purple, orange, and blue colors - might not show up great in photos but it absolutely pops in person. The base gray color is really cool too.

For wheels and tires, we went with Valor V09 beadlocks with a machined finish and orange beadlock ring. These are probably one of our most popular wheels right now. The tires are Valor's 35-inch Alpha in their H2 compound, which is actually a competition compound that's a little softer.
We also installed DRT sway bar links front and rear, all powder coated orange to match the theme. These give you more strength and adjustability than the factory ones.

For the intake, we did an RPM clutch tube just to clean things up from all the baffles the factory one has.

Revolutionary Rear Tire Carrier System for 35" Tires

This is probably one of the coolest new products that DRT is working on. It's a swing-away tire carrier specifically designed for ADV guys who want to carry a bigger spare tire. If you've got a 32, there's really no good way to keep it inside the vehicle.

This carrier will handle up to a 35-inch tire that's 10.5 inches wide - that's a really beefy tire and it fits no problem. The whole system works on pins, so it pins up and the tire carrier swings open. This gives you access to your spare if you need it, but more importantly, it gives you access to all your cargo in the back.

It comes with its own bumper and relocates your backup camera so you can still use the reverse camera. Really smart design.
We also added a DRT exhaust cover that cleans up the look and keeps the theme consistent all the way around the vehicle.

Chase Light System & Roof Rack Configuration

For chase lights, we installed Baja Designs S2s on a custom bracket. These have two brake lights and two strobing lights - white and amber. The cool part is we can run them solid as work lights or reverse lights, or have them strobe for chase lights.

The DRT roof rack is super sturdy and has six crossbars not including the front and rear ones. That gives you a ton of mounting options for tents, gear, storage boxes, coolers, spare tires - pretty much anything you want to throw up there.

We added Viper Machine whip mounts and went with solid white buggy whips. Super bright option for visibility.

Interior Cargo Solutions: Hydraulic Tire Rack & MOLLE Panels

Here's another prototype that might not make it to market, but it's really cool. When DRT was figuring out how to get spare tires in an ADV, they came up with this hydraulic tire rack for the back cargo area.

It allows you to fit a smaller tire - a 32 or maybe a 33 depending on your passenger situation. The rack lowers down hydraulically, you load your tire, raise it up, and pin it in place. You still get all your storage underneath, which is a really smart use of space.

We also installed DRT MOLLE panels on the sides so you can mount your first aid kit, jack, fire extinguisher, and other gear in an organized way.

Premium Interior: Triple X Seats & Custom Sea Decking

The interior got some serious upgrades. We had Blades do custom sea decking throughout - went with gray and black to keep it subtle, but we did the DRT logo in the floorboard with a pinkish fuchsia color to match the exterior.

Triple X hooked us up with heated and ventilated seats with custom stitching to match the exterior theme. These seats are perforated down the center and have all the heating and cooling built right in.

For DRT interior products, we installed their door handles, A-pillar grab handles for getting in and out, their Xpedition-specific visor system, passenger grab handle, shift knob, and a quick-release steering wheel. The steering wheel can come in and out easily, which is really convenient.
In the rear, there's a DRT harness bar so you can add harnesses for your rear passengers if you want proper safety equipment.

We added three Litt Industries dome lights throughout the interior that light everything up inside. All controlled through the XTC switch system.

Advanced Electronics: XTC Controls, Rugged Radio & SSV Works

This car has a ton of electronics, and most of it comes from XTC. We installed their turn signal kit with the lever and hazard button, plus their eight-panel switch system that controls all the lighting - auxiliary dome lights, whip lights, front bumper lights, A-pillar lights, everything.

For communication, we went with a Rugged M1 radio with an STX intercom system. We actually replaced the whole factory stereo with an SSV Works unit that controls colors and effects. All the speakers have LED rings that can strobe and change colors.

There's an external speaker mounted up top, and we've got headset jacks on the side for front passengers and on the rear harness bar for rear passengers.

SDI E-Click Shock Technology: Adjustable Performance

The SDI E-Click system is one of the coolest features on this whole build. This module lets you control your shocks from inside the cab with a ton of different adjustments. Right now with the key on but engine off, they're locked out at full stiff, but this gives you dynamics just like a Pro R or Turbo R.

The system plugs into the ECU and gives you all your adjustment options on the fly. SDI also makes another module that controls strobe functions, so we're actually controlling the rear chase lights through the SDI system too.

Convenience Features: Remote Start & Power Door Locks

Here's something you probably didn't expect - this Xpedition has remote start and power door locks just like a regular car. When you're cruising around with the family and stop at the grocery store or for ice cream, just walk away and hit the lock button. It automatically locks all the doors with internal locks.

If it's hot or cold out and you want to pre-cool or preheat the vehicle, just use the remote start and it'll fire up the AC for you. Pretty convenient features that you don't usually see on off-road machines.
